uncomfortable dog

I have a small maltese shitzu dog 3 y.o. we have friends who also have a maltese Shitzu who is a bit bigger.The two dogs get on relatively well, and run around and play pretty full on! Usually the next day my dog can barely walk! He is very tentative on his back legs and can barely put them on the ground to walk.He doesnt seen to be in any pain as such, but is definately very flat. This problem does seem to rectify itself after about a day. By the time I take him to the vet the problem is gone so the vet cant get a good idea on what the problem is!! Any ideas?????

Is there any way you can video or take pics of him when this happens? There are so many things that could be going on, it is hard to make a educated guess. Possibly on their next play date you can have the dogs take rest periods in separate rooms, or minamise actual jumping / wrestling actives. E.g. rather than bouncing a ball for them to catch, roll it along the ground. That type of activity.
